Christmas came early in Milngavie yesterday as Bield’s Oakburn Park enjoyed a night of Christmas spirit with 68 visitors joining in with festive activities.

People came together for carol singing, live music and homemade wine and mince pies. Father Christmas also showed up to the event and was happy to see so many children joining in with the festivities.

The local choir and a local church vocalist performed at the event with songs such as ‘O Holy Night’ and David Granger performed a melody of Christmas hits on the saxophone.

Margaret Anderson, a carer at Oakburn Park, said: “Everyone had a really great night – what a wonderful occasion, it was quite overwhelming!”

Donna McCallum, Acting Manager at Oakburn Park Day Care, said: “It’s fantastic to see such a great turn-out, all the staff who volunteered on the evening were run off their feet!

“Christmas is always a fantastic time of year to have a get-together and celebrate, and we’re delighted to see so many from the community.”
