LADIES enjoyed a night of ‘fun, food, fizz and friendship’ at a fundraiser for Bearsden Primary School.

The event, organised by a some mums from the school’s fundraising group, raised money to help create a new playground at the school.

The highlight of the sell-out evening was a brilliant cookery demonstration given by Allen Chalmers of Portofino Catering.

The entertaining chef and musician showed how to prepare a series of canapés which are big on impact and taste but simple and hassle free to create.

He hosted a question and answer session and rounded off the evening with a rousing piano performance for his audience, a treat which went down a storm.

The event also featured a home baking stand and a selection of Allen’s canapés for guests to take home and enjoy.

Joanne Robertson, one of the organisers from the fundraising group’s committee, said: “The annual ladies’ night is a highlight of our school fundraising year.

“We are so grateful for the incredible support and generosity we received, especially from those who donated prizes, home baking and their time.

“Everyone played a great part in making the night a huge success.”
