Bearsden will be a hub of musical activity when it stages its own version of Celtic Connections for the next festival event in October.
The fun starts on Friday, October 3 with a country dancing festival for local schoolchildren.
This was a huge success last year when over 200 children from local schools took part.
There will also be a family ceilidh in the evening with live music from the New Kilpatrick Ceilidh Band.
And there will be loads of free workshops for all ages the following day (Saturday)including taster sessions in the ukulele and fiddle (instruments provided) and singing with tutors from the Glasgow Fiddle Workshop.
There will also be a chanter lesson for beginners on Saturday from 11.15am to 12.15pm with Hector Cruikshank, the honorary president of Milngavie and Bearsden Pipe Band.
You can also learn step dancing in the afternoon from 2pm to 4.15pm (with a break) with certified tutor in Highland and Scottish Country Dance - Janet Johnston.
There is also a photo competition during the festival. If you have any original photographs of a view in Scotland (please say where it is) email it to email@example.com and it will be displayed during the festival and beforehand to allow people to choose 12 or 13 for a local calendar.
If you are interested in taking part in any of the workshops go to the festival website (bearsdenfestival.org.uk) to download the flier and email/post it to them (firstname.lastname@example.org).
