Christmas is a time for giving so why not support a worthwhile cause this year when you buy your Christmas tree.

Scottish charity Bethany Christian Trust is improving the lives of hundreds of people in Glasgow this festive season through its Caring Christmas Tree appeal.

Simply by changing the way in which you buy your Christmas tree can give Bethany the resources to support a family in crisis this Christmas.

Bethany has set up a website and phone number for people buying trees and are offering Grade One Nordman Firs at competitive prices with every penny raised going to help families in Glasgow this winter.

Once you have ordered your tree you can collect it from your chosen pick up point which includes Bearsden Baptist church.

One person supported by Bethany, said: “Our family nearly fell apart last year. This year’s going to be different thanks to Caring Christmas Trees. With Bethany’s help we’re getting support to stick together.”

To buy a tree simply go on to www.caringchristmastrees.com or call 0845 111 8733 and make your order.

To serve an increasing demand Bethany now has four collection sites across the city (Newton Mearns, Bearsden, Mosspark and Paisley) and you can find your closest site on line.

A spokesperson for Bethany said: “Caring Christmas Trees is a simple way to support Bethany’s vital work in Glasgow. Every penny raised stays in our city and allows us to offer practical support to families in need this Christmas.”

During the first week in December shoppers can also order their tree from the pop up booking hub at the Tron church at the top of Buchanan Street in Glasgow.
