East Dunbartonshire MP, Jo Swinson, is encouraging people to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee this year by contributing something to the Diamond Jubilee time capsule.
Memories and stories from the last 60 years are being collected for this digital gift which will be presented to Her Majesty The Queen. Over 23,000 items have already been added to the time capsule (www.jubileetimecapsule.org), making the project the most ambitious digital legacy of the Diamond Jubilee. Members can send in videos, photos and text about a memorable day between February 6, 1952 (Accession Day) and June 6, 2012.
The very best entries will be curated into the Diamond (re)collection and be presented to the Queen later in 2012.
Ms Swinson said: “The Diamond Jubilee time capsule is shaping up to be the best gift the Queen has ever received, a history of the last 60 years as told by us. Local residents can share their stories as a way of taking part in the celebrations.”
