Following the success of previous Christmas poster competitions, the Food Standards Agency invited all primary schools across Scotland to design posters promoting either good food hygiene, healthy eating and physical activity, or food allergy awareness, receiving over 4,000 entries from 153 primaries.

Simra Azhar (7), from Bearsden’s Killermont Primary, achieved a ‘Highly Commended’ award with an eye-catching design highlighting the importance of eating five portions of fruit and vegetables a day, winning prizes for both herself and her school.

Not only that, but P3 pupil Simra was also presented with a framed print of her design.

Her creation features in the FSA’s 2012 calendar.
