Mugdock Country Park is looking forward to the New Year and kicks off 2015 with some fantastic events for all ages and to suit all tastes.

Why not go along to their cinema to see The Bird Cage (cert 15) on Monday, January 12 at 7.30pm.

This American comedy, made in 1996 and directed by Mike Nichols, stars Robin Williams, Gene Hackman, Nathan Lane, and Dianne Wiest. Dan Futterman, Calista Flockhart, Hank Azaria, and Christine Baranski appear in supporting roles. It is a remake of the 1978 Franco-Italian film, La Cage aux Folles, by Édouard Molinaro.

Explore the art of batik on Saturday, January 17 from 10am to 4pm through demonstration and practical exercises. This is a chance to have fun with batik processes using wax and dyes, work on silk, cotton and paper to produce various vibrant and unique pieces of batik art. Suitable for age 16+. Cost £20. Enjoy the enchanting tale of Tam O’Shanter’s Bairns at the park on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 January from 11am – 12pm.

This will draw you into the world of Tam O’Shanter and his resourceful Bairns, Fiona and Iain! The witches are desperate to get their hands on Meg’s tail but the bairns are equally determined to return it to Meg.

Join them as together they embark on an exciting journey, facing dangers and obstacles that threaten to ruin the bairns’ plans. stop them. Will they succeed? There is only one way to find out!
