A BRAVE little girl who beat leukaemia has been honoured for her fundraising activities for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families.

Rhionna McCulloch (8) was nominated by Greg Bremner, her headteacher at Craigdhu Primary, and collected her East Dunbartonshire Council Wider Achievement Award last Wednesday in Bishopbriggs Academy with her mum Gillian.

Over the last three years little Rhionna - who was diagnosed with cancer in 2007 and given the all clear two years later - has raised £9,600 for the children’s charity.

Gillian said it would be fantastic if they could get to the £10,000 mark by Easter Sunday when Rhionna will be fundraising for the Kilt Walk - a 26 mile walk between Hampden and Loch Lomond Shores.
