BEARSDEN Primary School has made it through to the national final of the Euroquiz at the Scottish Parliament in May.
The team of four pupils - William Holmes, Zaryan Amjad, Fraser Ellis and Ramneek Sandhu - won East Dunbartonshire’s final heat when they competed against 21 other schools last Wednesday in Bishopbriggs Academy.
They will now represent East Dunbartonshire Council against 30 other local authority teams at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh on Monday, May 14.
Councillor Una Walker, convener of education, said: “I would like to congratulate all the pupils who took part.
“As question master for the final heat I thought that some of the questions were quite tough but true to form our young people did really well.
“Commiserations to the two runners up, Clober Primary who finished a close second, and Baljaffray Primary, who finished third.
“I wish Bearsden Primary all the very best in May and I am sure they will do very well.”
The Euroquiz is orgainised by the Scottish European Educational Trust. Questions covered history, geography, sport, culture, European Union and general knowledge.
