AN ENGINEERING student has won a prestigious engineering scholarship.
Neal David Stokes (18) was named as one of the UK’s brightest young engineers after he received the James Clayton Undergraduate Scholarships which will contribute £1,000 per year towards his engineering degree.
The scholarship was presented to just 21 of the top engineering students in the UK at a ceremony in the Institution’s headquarters in London last Wednesday - September 26.
The Bearsden teenager is studying at The University of Strathclyde.
Professor Isobel Pollock, president of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, said: “Neal is one of the most promising young engineers in the UK and I hope this scholarship can help him on his way to a hugely successful engineering careers.
“The country and indeed the world’s future depends on the ingenuity of the next generation of engineers, like Neal.”
