If you are a keen gardener or would like to be, why not come along to Bearsden Cross Hall on Saturday, September 7 when Bearsden Horticultural Society will be holding their annual Autumn Flower Show. The show will be open from 11am-4pm with the presentation of trophies at 2.30pm by Councillor Ashay Ghai, East Dunbartonshire Council.
There will be competitive classes for rock garden plants, heaths and heathers, pot plants, roses, dahlias, chrysanthemums, annuals and herbaceous perennials, home made wine, fruit and vegetables, kindred activities which includes baking, preserves, confectionery and handcrafts. Also a junior section which is divided into three age groups, eight and under, 9-12 years and 13-16 years. Please encourage your children or grandchildren to enter. We need your support to make sure the show will be a success.
There will be a tearoom serving morning coffee and afternoon tea, sales stalls selling baking, plants and bulbs. At the close of the show there will be a sale of flowers.
It is hoped that there will be stalls selling jewellery, wooden articles, hand made hats and other craft items.
