A DISABLED man has slammed East Dunbartonshire Council for failing to fix his bath and shower since he moved into the house last October.

Scott Matthews (26), who has limited mobility in his lower limbs, hasn’t been able to have a bath for over two months.

He’s been using the shower at his home in Ashburn Gardens, Milngavie, but is worried that the pipes are leaking under the shower unit.

He said: “The council assured me that the hole in the bath would be fixed before I moved in but it wasn’t.

“I’m getting fed up of phoning the council about it - I’m losing faith in them.

“They keep saying they will fix it and then they don’t.

“They offered to take the shower and bath away before Christmas but they only had a replacement shower and I was expecting family to stay with me so that didn’t really suit me.”

Head of assets and property services at East Dunbartonshire Council, Grace Irvine, said: “Regarding repairs to the bath and shower we will investigate and remedy the situation within 10 days.”
