MP Jo Swinson wants people to nominate residents in their local Indian community for a new awards scheme.
The Dadabhai Naoroji Awards, dedicated to the first Asian MP in the UK, were launched by the Lib Dems Party last month.
The scheme is aimed at marking the achievements of those who have helped forge stronger links between the UK and Indian communities in the fields of commerce, culture and education.
Jo said: “East Dunbartonshire’s Indian community has a number of individuals who have contributed significantly to our local area, and would be worthy of a nomination.”
Nominations close at midnight on September 30. You can put forward your choice at libdems.org.uk/dadabhai_naoroji_awards.
