A proposal to build new houses in Craigton woods and a new train station in Bearsden near the Allander leisure centre are just two of the topics which will be up for discussion at Milngavie Community Council ‘s next meeting, their AGM, on Wednesday, May 7 at 7pm in the Fraser centre, Milngavie.
Plans to build houses behind Boclair House in Bearsden will also be on the agenda and everyone is invited to go along.
Milngavie Community Council (MCC) would also like to remind people that they have limited funds which can be awarded as grants to local organisations.
Callum Christie, convener of MCC, said: “Applicants must have a constitution and each case is considered on its merits.
“In the last year we awarded money to Milngavie In Bloom, Milngavie Heritage Centre, the Friendship Centre, the Chess Championship, Bearsden and Milngavie Highland Games and Old People’s Welfare Centre.”
There was a lot of discussion about the uncertain future of the Allander Leisure Centre at MCC’s last meeting and Thomas Glen, director of EDC development and regeneration, has agreed to come to the next meeting to explain what’s happening and answer questions.
