AN ENTERPRISING businesswoman has scooped a top business award for her internet based company.
Gillian Dick (36) from Bearsden set up Find Me Glasgow and won the prestigious Chamber of Commerce hosted Glasgow Business Awards at a dinner in the Thistle Hotel Glasgow.
She won her award in the Best Employer of a student or graduate, which is indicative of the growth Gillian’s business has seen in the last year.
The former Bearsden Academy pupil beat off competition from global companies like Morgan Stanley and Percepta to come out on top. The Find Me Glasgow team, which has won a total of five business awards to date, is an online business that connects consumers with local services and events. The company works closely with small businesses looking to harness the potential of social media.
Gillian said: “We operate in a vibrant and ever changing market in Glasgow and the city and it’s incredibly big heart are what we promote. I am delighted to have this award on behalf of my fantastic Find Me Glasgow team of staff.”
Gillian also competed successfully to enter the Entrepreneurial Spark initiative, Scotland’s first ever business accelerator supported by Sir William and Lady Haughey - a couple, who from humble beginnings created the biggest privately owned facilities management company in Europe.
