THIS year’s Christmas Tree Festival at St Paul’s Church, Milngavie, was a huge success raising £3,015 for charity.
The event, organised by the Association of Milngavie Churches, ran for a week from December 1 to 7 with 34 trees on show - purchased and decorated by a wide range of organisations in the community including schools, churches, youth organisations, Milngavie Choir, the Philatelic Society, flower clubs and Milngavie in Bloom.
There was also a feast of music from a wide range of local musicians such as the New Kilpatrick Ceilidh Band, Melody Box, the Jordanhill Handbell Ringers, school and church choirs, pupils from the Music School of Douglas Academy and several solo performers.
Visitors also enjoyed a cuppa with some delicious homebaking.
The money will divided equally and £1,550 goes to St Margaret’s Hospice in Clydebank, and Tearfund.
