A new law is to be introduced to protect tenants from the silent killer of carbon monoxide in rented properties.
Welcoming the news, Lawrence Slater from campaigning group CO – Be Alarmed, said: “It is great to see legislation will be laid before government to make it mandatory for private landlords to install CO alarms in their properties. This is an important step forward in keeping the UK safe from CO following years of campaigning.”
CO is a deadly gas that cannot be seen, smelt or tasted. The only way to know it is there is by installing an alarm.
