A new technical college for students in Milngavie and Bearsden was opened three months ahead of schedule at a cost of £500,000.
The new college was situated in Kilbowie Road, Clydebank.
In addition a further £200,000 was spent on equipment and furniture .
Among the facilities were a well equipped gymnasium.
The college had a maximum capacity of 1,144 students split between full-time, part-time students and evening class students.
The building had three main departments, engineering, building and commerce.
Each department at the college offered vocational courses leading to recognisable qualifications.
