Pupils at Castlehill Primary School in Bearsden have just completed a project called ‘Clyde in the Classroom.’

The school received 250 brown trout eggs at the beginning of February after a visit to Glasgow Science Centre and the children observed the rapid changes from egg to alevin (hatchling) over a six week period to help them learn about the lifecyle of the brown trout.

Then they released the fish into the manse burn in Bearsden - the project ended with a special class assembly on Friday, Match 22. The term will end with a whole school trip ‘Doon the Watter’ at the end of March.
