BEARSDEN SKI Club member Ana Vincenti is the face of Scotland’s Outdoor, Ski & Snowboarding Show at the SECC this weekend.
The 17-year-old freestyle skier, who is a member of the Scottish Freestyle Team and hotly tipped for the Winter Olympic fame in 2014, was at the ski centre earlier this week to promote the event and demonstrate some top tips to young skiers.
Anna has been skiing since she was three years old and visitors to the SECC will be able to see her show off her moves at the Big Air Ski Displays this Saturday and Sunday, October 21-22.
In the Outdoors area, Danny MacAskill’s Clan will be performing cycle stunts and there will also be displays by the current World Record holder for indoor kite flying.
Other events at the show include archery for those inspired by the Disney Pixar film Brave, and a chance to discover falconry with World of Wings, Scotland’s largest birds of prey centre.
Meanwhile in the ski and snowboard area, visitors can watch live freestyle displays, meet sled dogs from the Cairngorms and relax in the apres ski area with a hot chocolate bar, mulled cocktail bar and DJ sets. Visitors who bring their swimsuits can enjoy some bubbly in the hot tub Champagne bar.
There will also be a programme of talks by experts such as night-time wildlife spotting expert Darren Perks, top Bearsden skier Dougie Crawford, Marine hero JJ Chalmers and Atlantic-crossing kayaker Steve Bowens.
Foodies will enjoy alpine cookery demonstrations by top Scottish chefs and cookery schools.
And for the foodies there will also be dozens of exhibitors offering expert advice, the latest kit and special offers on outdoor, ski and snowboard experiences. The show opens from 10am-6pm daily and tickets are £12. To book, or for more information, visit www.scotlandsskishow.co.uk or telephone 0844 395 4000
