Vivien and Patrick star in Milngavie folk night

TALENTED folk musicians, Vivien Scotson and Patrick Bullen, will perform at The Fraser Centre, Milngavie, on Friday, December 4.

They will be singing their own songs along with some unexpected covers, with their own folky slant, and they will be accompanied by local musician Laura Durrant on cello.

Vivien and Patrick became friends at this year's Celtic Connections festival, when they met in the Room of Song. They soon realised that their personal combinations of vocal and song-writing skills complemented each other perfectly and decided to form a collaboration.

Patrick has music in his blood. His father was well known on the Scottish music circuit and he performed with musicians such as Matt

McGinn and supported the Humblebums (Gerry Rafferty, Billy Connelly).

Vivien began her career by touring the UK with country and western star Charley Pride. She then toured and performed with many other artists, including Donnie Munro, Sandi Thom, and Phil Cunningham and Ali Bain.

She has performed and written with other big names such as Marti Pellow and Linda Lewis.

Despite their individual success, Vivien and Patrick are powerful together, and project a great chemistry on stage. They are now managed by Perry Hughes, the man responsible for making Russell Watson a huge worldwide success, and are awaiting news from an interested major record label.

Their EP, "Small Beginnings", was launched in May this year, and since then has been regularly played on BBC Radio Scotland by Iain Anderson, Archie Fisher and also Tom Morton, as well as other local radio stations.

Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets, costing 6, are available from Milngavie bookshop, Art Forum, or on the door on the night.
