Taylor Henderson meets redhead BAFTA winner Kathleen McDermott

MILNGAVIE'S celebrity stylist Taylor Ferguson is going to appear on a television programme next month which focuses on the topic of redheads.

Taylor, known as Scotland's hairdresser to the stars, is taking part in STV's Made in Scotland series.

His spot shows him being interviewed by BAFTA-winning actress, Kathleen McDermott, when she visited his Glasgow city centre salon, right, to get his views on red hair and will be broadcast on August 6.

Taylor, who was a redhead himself when he was younger, said: "I was delighted when STV wanted me to appear in the programme, I was happy to discuss a topic that's close to my own heart.

"Kathleen is fiercely proud of her hair colour and why shouldn't she be? She has a great head of hair and during the interview I cut it and gave her the look she desired. We had a lot of fun chatting about hair colours and obviously specifically about red and how common it is in Scotland."

Taylor, who lives in Milngavie with his wife Anne, has made several TV appearances during his career including one on the BBC's The Weakest Link which helped raise money for the Darlinda Charity for Renal Research at Glasgow's Western Infirmary.

Taylor added: "Appearing with Kathleen was a lot less stressful than appearing in front of another redhead Anne Robinson when she hosted The Weakest Link. Talking hair is something I can do easily and more passionately than any other topic."

Kathleen posed for a photograph with Taylor which will appear on the salon's celebrity wall of fame which includes other well known stars such as Penny Lancaster, Rachel Hunter, Darius and Michelle Collins who have all visited the salon for their haircare needs.
