Gruffalo author Julia brings her creations to life on stage at Oran Mor

FANS of 'The Gruffalo' children's stories by Bearsden author, Julia Donaldson, will love a show that she is going to present at Oran Mor in the west end of Glasgow, in January.

The award winning writer is going to act out four stories from 'The Gruffalo and other stories' and sing songs, with help from her husband, other actors and the audience. She also plans to act out some of her other books such as 'What the Ladybird Heard', 'Room on the Broom' and 'Tabby McTat' so you will get to meet some interesting characters such as a witch and the Gruffalo himself at the event on January 10.

Julia has organised this to raise money for the charity, the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association, which helps families with children with this condition, which is caused by an abnormality on a chromosome which occurs around the time of conception. Her husband, Malcolm, is a paediatrician at Yorkhill Children's Hospital and is involved with the charity as some of his patients have the syndrome.

The shows, for children aged four and over, will be at 1.30pm and 4pm and tickets cost 5. Afterwards there will be books for sale and Julia will be doing signings.

Tickets are available at www.ticketweb.co.uk box office or phone 08444 771 000.

For more information go to www.oran-mor.co.uk or phone the events office on 0141 357 6200.
