Go Ape with our super competition

TO celebrate Go Ape's eighth birthday the outdoor high-wire forest adventure experts have teamed up with the Herald to offer one family ticket which admits two adults and two children — worth £100.

Adventurers will have an exhilarating three hour experience exploring the grounds around the beautiful David Marshall Lodge in Aberfoyle forest.

Explorers can also climb 40ft up a rope ladder, go on a Tarzan swing into a giant rope net then zip-wire through trees, as well as crawl through tunnels and tackle high-wire rope bridges.

So why not live life to the full and do a bit of monkeying around? All participants will be fitted with a harness, pulley and karabiner, and given a 30 minute safety briefing by a trained instructor before being let loose into the forest canopy, free to swing through the trees and instructors are always on hand.

The treetop course is sure to release your inner ape as you tackle the treetop high wires and tricky crossings.

There are five sections to get through — each one ending with a wind-in-your-face zip-wire slide to the ground.

The extreme sky-high giant obstacle course up in the trees using ladders, walkways, bridges and tunnels made of wood, rope and super-strong wire is sure to leave a smile on your face.

For many people the highlight will be the zip-lines, which includes the longest at 426 metres — check it out on YouTube.

The Go Ape experience gets the adrenalin pumping, gets people out of their comfort zone and above all it's great fun.

To be in with a chance of winning, make sure you get your hands on a copy of this week's Milngavie and Bearsden Herald, which is in shops now.
