Bearsden Literary Society meeting

THE next meeting of Bearsden Literary Society will be on Monday February 18 at 7.45pm in St Andrew’s RC Church.

The subject will be Thomas Muir the 18th century man known as the Father of Scottish Democracy.

Thomas Muir was from Bishopbriggs and led a colourful and interesting life which included encouraging the establishment of the Parliamentary Reform Society Scotland.

Jimmy Watson, vice chair from The Friends of Thomas Muir, and Don Martin, East Dunbartonshire Librarian and author will give the talk. Both were instrumental in setting up the Thomas Muir trail.

All welcome. Non members £3.50, students £1.
