THERE’S loads on at Mugdock Country Park over the next week.
People are being urged to support a very good ‘Claus’ and take part in the Santa Dash on Saturday.
The run is being organised by Deafblind Scotland and the participants have the choice of doing a 1k or a 5k race.
The costs are £10 for adults and £5 for children under 16 years – with those over 12 receiving a full Santa suit to ‘dash in’ whilst the under 12s receive reindeer antlers and a flashing red nose, as well as a gift from Santa himself.
Participants can register online at www.deafblingscotland.org.uk/fundraising/santa-dash
There will also be a host of Christmas activities on offer over Saturday, 1st and Sunday, December 2, with fairground rides, face painting, bird box making and a treasure hunt.
Delicious festive fayre will also be on the menu and friends and family can enjoy mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, candy floss and donuts.
When darkness falls, the Mugdock Christmas lights will be switched on by Sally Magnusson and Horace the Haggis – the main character of her new children’s book.
Sally and Horace will be doing a book signing at the event too.
Enjoy the fresh air and improve your health as you join a Mugdock ranger-led walk heading west along a section of the West Highland Way from Dumgoyne on Wednesday, December 5.
This walk will last an hour, on mainly level established paths.
Minibus transport available from Lennoxtown at 11am or meet at the walk start at 11.25am. The event is free - but booking essential, call 0141 956 6586.
