POP rockers The Towers are establishing themselves as a powerful force in the local music scene by filming their first ever music video.
The Milngavie and Bearsden based group recently completed the video shoot for their new track, I'd Be More Apathetic (If I Wasn't So Lethargic) despite not having the backing of a record label.

Guitarist Gavin Sommerville (24) said: "We knew someone who was keen to make a video and we thought we could do it for the new single and then launch it via the internet."

The Towers, who also include singer Jamie Sellers (22), guitarist Niall Sommerville (21), bassist Stevie Rankin (18) and drummer Ali Rankin (20), spent several days filming the video in the west end of Glasgow.
The group had originally hoped to do an animation style video but they decided on a more simple approach.

Gavin said: "We spent a long time looking at various ideas and we were really keen to do an animated video but that proved to be too complicated.

"We then decided to include ourselves in the shoot and we basically came up with the idea to follow a guy around for the day."
The video, which will be released at the end of April, marks the band's return to music after a short break over Christmas.

The five-piece group also have a number of gigs lined-up, including Monday, April 21, 8pm at Capitol, Glasgow.

Gavin said: "We feel the new single is the strongest we have ever written and we can't wait to play it live."

The boys have also been eyeing up the chance to play some of Scotland's biggest festivals this summer.

Gavin said: "Our summer plans are really shaping up as we have got to the heats for the chance to play at Live at Loch Lomond and we have also applied to the T Break competition.

"But if that doesn't work out we will defintely do more gigs up north and possibly down in London."
