Mugdock will reverberate to the sounds of all kinds of music and colourful performances with a beer bar and barbecue lending to the festival atmosphere.

Headlining acts will include The Battlefield Band who have played the world — and now as part of the 'Homecoming' are heading for Mugdock.

One of Scotland's foremost traditional musicians, John McCusker, will be joined by Kris Drever and Roddy Woomble from Idlewild as well as the superb Michael Marra.

Other awesome attractions include the colourful Ayawarra African Drum Group who will deliver a spellbinding performance, as will the incredible Chinese Dancers and Belleview Rendezvous with their intricate world music played on bazouki, fiddle and nickel harpa.

A host of other talented musicians will include local, top class act Seylan Baxter and Cheyenne Brown.

Festival director Erne Parkin said: "Thanks to East Dunbartonshire Council and Arts Council, Outdoor World, The Scottish Arts Council and Mugdock Country Park this unique, one world, community festival will feature a variety of dancers and musicians from Spain, Alabania, Indian, Somalia, China, Africa, Scotland and Europe.

"The festival will offer a great family-friendly event with this year all the acts playing in the all-weather festival marquee in the Victorian Walled Garden — just in case we get bad weather.

"We have evening concerts in the theatre starting on Thursday, June 18 with a dramatic folk theatre presentation Life Up the Raw.

"Belleview Rendezvous will feature on the Friday as part of the opening ceremony and Michael Marra will perform on the Saturday."
On Saturday and Sunday entertainment will be ongoing between 12noon and 6pm.

The festival will offer fantastic value for money with non-stop, top class entertainment. All-day tickets are just £5 for adults, £3 for six to 16 year olds (who must be accompanied by an adult) and fives and under go FREE.

There's also acoustic musicians playing in and around the festival bar and barbecue.
