This is your chance to listen to this popular band playing traditional marches, modern pieces and show music. Admission is free.

LOTS ON FOR THE KIDS

Uniforms have already started to appear in the shops and the kids are not even half way through their summer holiday yet.

This is why it is best to make the most of the break, so here is our guide on what to do around Milngavie and Bearsden this week.

The summer playscheme will start at Clober Primary School, Milngavie, on Tuesday and will finish on Friday.

The programme will feature games, sports and activities for eight to 12 year olds.

Youngsters can take part between 10am and 12noon or 1pm and 3pm at a cost of £1.50 per two hour session which is paid on the day.

Adventurous kids should take up the art of snowboarding at Bearsden Ski Centre on Monday.

A two hour class for beginners is on between 2pm and 4pm for 10 to 16 year olds. The cost is £11.50 or £5.75 with a passport.

Design and make your own kite to fly on what seems to be a windy day everyday in Scotland at the Lillie Art Gallery tomorrow (Saturday).
This class, which is on from 11am to 12.30pm, is open to kids aged six to nine at the cost of £3.50.

The same venue is also offering kids the chance to create their own zoo creatures using tinfoil and other colourful materials on Tuesday.

The cost is £3.50 and there are two sessions — one for six to nine year olds at 11am to 12.30pm and the other is for 10 to 12 year olds at 2pm to 3.30pm.

If you plan on watching the Olympics later on in the summer, it might be a good idea to head down to Westerton Library on Thursday to make an Olympic t-shirt.

Anyone who wants to take part should bring a t-shirt and be at the library for the class which runs from 2.30pm and 3.15pm.
