Drymen B&B plans knocked back
CAMPAIGNERS have won their fight to prevent a B&B and eight self-catering units being built near their homes.
Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park planning committee met last week to discuss a controversial planning application for Gateside Estate, at Foxglove Cottages on Gartness Road, Drymen.
After listening to arguments from objectors and supporters, the committee voted to refuse the application due to the density of the development. They also felt it did not comply with the National Park Local Plan.
Drymen community council and around 25 individuals objected to the application on a range of issues including access, scale, design, ecology, and the location.
There were also seven representations supporting the proposal, including VisitorScotland and Scottish Enterprise. Supporters said the proposal would be a high quality facility and would boost the local economy.
