Members of West of Scotland Rugby Club gathered at their clubhouse in Burnbrae, Milngavie, this week to receive the Club of the Month Award.
Players and club officials attended a presentation when Anna Crampin (centre), of league sponsors Scottish Hydro Electric, handed a certificate to West's president Gordon Cairns, vice president of junior club rugby Margaret Alexander and captain of the S1 team Stuart Holt. Around 60 members turned up, including many of the 1st XV team, who were training that night.

Flanking the four are (left to right) manager Angus Steel, 3rd XV coach Donald Malone, vice-president Allan Snedden, head coach John Beattie, assistant coach David McLean, club captain Andrew Park, and junior coach Eric Smith.

The award was in recognition of not just the work put in by the 1st XV team in reaching the top of their league, but in all the effort at grass roots level among the young up-and-coming players in the junior squads.
