WINNING league games will be the main focus for Partick Thistle over the next few weeks — despite the side earning a quarter-final replay in the Scottish Cup against Rangers.
Boss Ian Mccall admitted that his squad has put aside all talk of their upcoming cup tie against the SPL giants which will be played on Sunday, April 13, at Firhill.

He said: "We did really well against Rangers at Ibrox and we have something now for everyone to look forward to. But before we can think about that we will need to concentrate on upcoming league games."

Following their stunning performance against Rangers last Wednesday the Jags have also received a boost with the news that Damon Gray will remain with the team until the end of the season.

The on-loan Hibs youngster was expected to return to Easter Road last weekend but following his 67th minute goal in the 1-1 draw against Rangers, he will remain at Firhill.

McCall said: "I'm delighted that Damon is staying with us until the end of the season because he is fantastic to watch and most importantly he scores goals."

Gray, however, did not manage to snag three points for the side in their disappointing draw against St Johnstone on Saturday.

McCall said: "We played some decent football and had better chances than St Johnstone but I think overall the result was fair to both teams.

"The pitch wasn't in the best condition but we can't moan about that because it is something that is affecting grounds all over Scotland because of the recent bad weather."

The jags will visit First Division leaders Hamilton Accies on Saturday at New Douglas Park but suspended team captain Alan Archibald will be missing out on the action.

McCall said: "We are looking forward to Saturday's game because the last time we played Hamilton at Firhill we won 3-0."

The side will also have a midweek fixture against second top Dundee at Firhill on Tuesday.

The Firhill boss added: "Dundee is a big game and we need to win if we want to move up a place in the league. They always bring good support so that atmosphere should be good on the night."
