THISTLE finally made it through to the Alba Challenge Cup quarter finals after a late, late show at Firhill.
Jags fans are getting value for money these days with last week's midweek CIS Cup tie against Forfar also being won in extra-time.

Tuesday's tie against Second Division Peterhead saw the visitors going in front with a Craig Gunn strike in 21 minutes.

Jags created a number of chances but were still behind at the interval when Simon Donnelly replaced Paul Paton.

Thistle continued to threaten and Damon Gray fired wide before the equaliser arrived in the 52nd minute.

It was the first goal of the season for Donnelly when he fired home from the edge of the box.

Ian McCall's men created numerous chances to get the crucial winner but the tie was still level at 90 minutes.

And it took less than two minute of injury time for Jags to edge in front with Stephen McKeown scoring from close range.

Peterhead battled back to equalise through Konrad Kosminski in the 103rd minute.

It was nerve-wracking stuff for the Jags fans but their side went in front just two minutes into the second period of extra time when Gary Harkins drove home.

McKeown completed his double and secured the tie when he shot home from a Donnelly cross.

Thistle's weekend action takes place on Sunday when they travel to face Queen of the South with McCall's men hoping to continue their impressive start to the season.

Jags were paired with Dundee when the second round draw of the CIS Cup was made with the tie taking place at Dens Park on Tuesday, August 26, kick-off 7.45pm.
