PARTICK THISTLE could still sign another striker before the transfer window closes, despite snapping up Rangers hitman Steven Lennon on a five-month loan deal.
First team coach John Henry confirmed that Jags gaffer Ian McCall is still hoping to secure the services of another striker to bring in much needed firepower in the absence of long-term injury victim Liam Buchanan.

The club currently have an on-loan deal with Hibs for striker Damon Gray and will keep 20-year-old Lennon until Tuesday, January 26.
Lennon's debut — a 2-0 defeat against Queen of the South on Sunday at Palmerston Park — wasn't the best start for the prolific striker, but first team coach Henry believes that the best is yet to come for the youngster.

He said: "Lennon did reasonably well against Queen of the South but he still has not had the opportunity to show how quick he is.

"It was, however, a decent start for him but we have still to see more."
The Jags endured their first defeat after a momentous start to the season which has seen them win the opening last five cup and league games.

The loss, however, was not a huge blow to McCall's men as first team coach Henry believes the team played well.

He said: "Obviously we were disappointed to lose but we were not disappointed with the performance."

Thistle will be hoping to make up for the defeat this week when they take on St Johnstone at Firhill.

Henry said: "It's going to be a tough game on Saturday because St Johnstone lost at the weekend and they are going to be fired up and hoping for a good result.

"But we have started the season well and we hope we can get back on track and get a good result on Saturday."

The team will also be involved in midweek action when they take on Dundee at Dens Park in their CIS Cup second round tie on Tuesday night.
Henry said: "We are confident about this game because Dundee have lost a lot of good players, but it is away, and it will still be a tough game for us."

It's bad news for midfielder David Rowson, however, who is likely to miss both of these matches after sustaining a hamstring injury at the weekend.

Henry even indicated that Rowson could be out for a few weeks.
Thistle have been drawn to play Livingston at Almondvale in the quarter final of the Challenge Cup on Sunday, September 7, kick-off 3pm.
