WING-back Paul Paton proved his place is at Firhill by slamming in his first goal of the season on Saturday.
The 21-year-old has only recently made the switch from semi-professional to full-time footballer after being snatched up this season by Ian McCall from Queen's Park — and got off the mark with a a 66th minute goal.

John Robertson gave the hosts the perfect start when he collected Ian Maxwell's knock down to score his first ever goal at home.

St Johnstone's Colin Samuel had a good effort which was on target in the 38th minute but Jonny Tuffey managed to make the save.

Ian Maxwell and Gary Harkins compounded the visitors' misery with two further goals.

Maxwell seized the ball after a corner clearance in the 48th minute and belted a shot into the back of the next.

Harkins sealed the victory with a close range shot in the 72nd minute.
