PARTICK THISTLE will be aiming to go top of the table when they take on Ross County at Firhill on Saturday.
The Jags are currently trailing leaders Dundee by one point after a momentous start to the season which has saw them win three out of their four league games.

Now Ian McCall's men will be hoping to snatch another three points when they play bottom of the league Ross County on their home patch at the weekend.

They will be looking for Dundee to slip up in their tough match away Queen of the South.

The club will also have more time to search for a striker after it was announced this week that the SFA will extend the transfer window to Monday.

First team coach John Henry told the Herald that McCall was still hoping to secure the services of another striker in the absence of long-term injury victim Liam Buchanan.

This is despite the fact that the Firhill club have signed up two on-loan strikers — Hibs youngster Damon Gray and Gers hitman Steven Lennon.
However, injury woes also plague the Jags, with David Rowson still out on the action after sustaining a hamstring injury.

The popular midfielder has been missing training to attend physiotherapy sessions, but there is no news yet on when he is likely to make a comeback.

There are no league games next weekend as Thistle will be turning their attentions to competing in the Challenge Cup.

Their third round tie against Livingston at Almondvale will be played on on Sunday, September 7.
