PARTICK THISTLE failed to cash in on their chances as they went down 1-0 to Brechin in their friendly at Glebe Park on Saturday.
The only goal of the game came 10 minutes into the second half with Charlie King Brechin's match winner.

Thistle played a double fixture on Thursday night with Ian McCall's squad coming out on top winning 2-1 against Ayr United at Somerset Park.

Gerry Britton made a return to Stair Park with another squad to play Stranraer — and lost an embarrassing 3-0.

Mark Roberts was originally due to join Britton's squad but McCall made a last minute decision to take him to play in the Ayr United game which proved to be a worthwhile one with the striker finding the net in the 14th minute.

Kevin McKinlay doubled Jags' lead in the 29th minute but McCall's men allowed a United goal from a trialist to slip through the net in the 87th minute.

Stranraer's Gregory Tade was too difficult for Thistle's defence to handle as he scored two goals – one in the 4th minute and another in the 21st minute.

The final goal from Derek Ferguson's men came in the 87th minute from Stuart McComb.
