Ten incidents were for verbal abuse only, 44 were for physical violence and 29 involved both physical and verbal abuse.

In 79 incidents the perpetrators were current pupils attending schools in East Dunbartonshire, in four incidents the alleged perpetrators were parents.

A total of 69 perpetrators were male and 14 were female, 21 of the victims were male and 62 were female.

No working days were lost as a result of the incidents.

The statistics were given to councillors at East Dunbartonshire Council's education and cultural services meeting.
