MOST people do not like the start of the week and a family of swans did not help matters when they decided to take a rest on Auchenhowie Road, Milngavie — bringing rush hour traffic to a halt.
Herald reader Jim Keightley, of Crossburn Avenue, Milngavie, sent this picture into us after he spotted the birds chilling on the road at around 5.15pm on Monday.
He said: "It was causing chaos and there must have been about a mile tailback of traffic.
"I cycle up and down the road a lot and I notice all sorts of wildlife such as deers and rabbits.
"A lot of the motorists were quite frightened as the birds were pecking their cars to protect their baby swans."
Police confirmed that they arrived at the scene at around 5.30pm after receiving a call from a member of the public but the swans were no longer in sight and traffic was moving smoothly.
